One of the best baguettes I have ever had, also one of the longest lasting (I have had the bread for 5 days and it has just started to get hard but not yet stale). Yes, there is a line, but it went by pretty fast and I enjoyed chatting with the folks in front and behind us, all of us visiting from a different state. I love the fact that the bakery uses local heirloom flours and work with local farmers. They also use freshly milled grain and slow fermentation. I can't wait to try their polish rye and some of their other world breads. I bought the rosemary salt bagels, baguette and froze the heritage and cranberry walnut breads for later. I will be back!

Words cannot describe the sheer quality of this bread. "Perfect" might come close. Chef Don Guerra who focuses on locally grown grains and in-house sourdough yeast is indisputably a master of his craft. The locale is a walk-through experience along a scenic desert brick plaza and I recommend visiting as a fun morning outing to enjoy this James Beard award-winning bakery.

Finally got to come in and buy a couple of loaves and tortillas. I was really happy to meet Don, the owner and baker of these amazing breads. He was thoughtful to answer all my questions and explain each bread. A line behind me and I didn't feel rushed or like I was a bother. I purchased the pain au levain, and the daily bread cranberry walnut. Also grabbed a warm pack of tortillas. He uses organic, heritage grains that he mills. All are sourdough based! He gave me a brochure with info and a couple of freezer bags for the road. Since returning home, I've enjoyed a slice of the cranberry walnut with butter. Delicious. Soft inside, crispy outside. Perfect flavor. Thrilled to have finally tried it and I'll definitely return.

This is a local Tucson staple, so be sure to go early in the morning when they first open! Yes, there will probably be a line but the bread is worth the wait. If you arrive mid-day you run the risk of the shop being sold out of many of the different bread varieties. Excellent fresh bread, lots of different options, and it was nice to see the owner working the register on a Saturday morning.

There is a reason the line is long. I am not going to into detail in delicious the bread is, everyone knows this. I would like to day that the staff are friendly, professional and informative. Definitely a great spot for bread.

So there may be a line. I arrived a few minutes after opening at 9 AM. I got in later than planned. I've had the bread before, but not from the actual bakery. It probably took me 20 minutes to make it to the front of the line. They keep water and umbrellas for sun protection near the door if needed. Yes this place deserves the accolades. Don Guerra, owner/ baker, was working the register. He was super friendly and gracious. The variety of bread they offer was excellent. I ordered the cranberry walnut, small baguette, and a quarter whole grain spelt. All of the breads were excellent. The business is clean and well organized, but only a few customers in the store per time. Definitely buy/eat their bread.

First time coming here, I read so much good things about it. And we are looking for a good bakery. My husband is Italian and love bread more than anything. We tried a few different bakeries before, but were not satisfied. Kidding aside, it was love at first bite! Lol! This will be our go to place when it comes to good bread! No wonder lines form here, we just got lucky they still have some when we get there. Staff are super friendly and helpful and we saw the famous baker and he's very friendly. I love this place already!
